The Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) of BUET is committed to fostering a supportive, safe, and enriching environment that empowers students to thrive academically, socially, and personally. The DSW facilitates the holistic development of students by offering:
-
A welcoming and student-centered service environment, ensuring approachable support through in-person engagement and multiple communication channels;
-
Comprehensive guidance and welfare services, including counseling, financial assistance, scholarships, and support for students’ socio-economic and personal well-being;
-
Effective coordination of student activities, clubs, societies, and cultural and co-curricular programs, promoting leadership, creativity, and community engagement;
-
Oversight and administration of residential facilities, ensuring safe, well-managed halls of residence and an environment conducive to academic success;
-
Support for student discipline and ethical conduct, working collaboratively with academic and administrative units to uphold university policies and foster a respectful campus culture;
-
Close liaison with external agencies and university stakeholders, facilitating student welfare initiatives and responding to student needs during emergencies, special circumstances, or institutional events.
Through these services, the DSW plays a vital role in sustaining BUET’s academic and institutional excellence. As a cornerstone of the student support ecosystem, the Directorate works “behind the scenes” to uplift the student community—ensuring that they receive the guidance, resources, and opportunities necessary to achieve their full potential within and beyond the university.
